About Me
Hi, I'm Elsa Bartley. I'm a lively and creative customer-centric designer and strategist. I find ways to help you support your customers online through understanding the value, convienience, relevance and accessibility of the Internet as applied to their needs.
I have worked in front-end development for nearly a decade, most recently in Innovation at an international bank; where I combine my enthusiasm and understanding of outstanding customer experience with the latest trends and technology to find new opportunities for the business and its customers.
I have an established background in web accessibility and usability, including search engine optimisation; I was the first HFI Certified Usability Analyst in the UK.
As well as many years of experience with web standards such as XHTML, JavaScript, CSS. I have worked with wide range of development platforms such as Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), Adobe Flex/Air and vector based mobile development platforms. Due to our early adoption of WPF I was asked to technically review 'Programming Windows Presentation Foundation' for O'Reilly.
I am always looking for opportunities to develop and to support this I am currently studying an ILM Certificate in First Line Management, with the ambition to lead my own development team, offering strong leadership and strategic guidance.
When I'm not geeking around online you might find me at a gig or up a mountain trying to snowboard. I'd really like to go back to New Zealand and try the mountains there although my birthday skidooing across the glacier in Iceland will take some beating.
About the site
This is my little corner of the web and it's as eclectic as I am. Expect geekery, mostly on the topics of the Interwebs and gaming, with a healthy amount of (mostly West Coast or UK based) eye candy thrown in to keep my soul smiling.
If the mix doesn't suit then the categories can filter the content for you or use APML if you are ahead of the curve.
